(CCAMLR-XXX, paragraph 12.55).

Please find attached a letter from the Co-conveners of WG-EMM requesting further information on the estimation of the green weight of krill caught by vessels operating in the krill fishery. This request is directed to Members which have notified their intention to participate in the krill fishery in 2012/13. The additional information is required by the end of August 2012, and will be used by the Co-conveners to prepare a paper for SC-CAMLR-XXXI.

In accordance with the Rules of Procedure, Members are invited to attend the Thirtieth Meetings of the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources and the Scientific Committee which will be held in Hobart, Australia, from 24 October to 4 November 2011.
The venue for these meetings is at the CCAMLR Headquarters which is located at 181 Macquarie Street, Hobart.

Members are advised that 10 Members have submitted notifications for exploratory longline fisheries for Dissostichus spp. in 2012/13 (Conservation Measure 21-02), in Subareas 48.6, 88.1 and 88.2 and Divisions 58.4.1, 58.4.2, 58.4.3a and 58.4.3b.

Members are advised that eight Members have submitted notifications for krill fisheries in 2012/13 (Conservation Measure 21-03). In total, 19 vessels have been notified for fishing in Subareas 48.1, 48.2, 48.3 and 48.4 with an expected level of catch of 672 700 tonnes.

In accordance with Conservation Measure 24-01, Members are advised that Russia has submitted two notifications for research fishing in Subareas 88.2 (SSRU A) and 88.3 in order to obtain new data and biological samples on Dissostichus mawsoni and associated by-catch species (attached). The research fishing is expected to take up to 10 tonnes of Dissostichus spp. in Subarea 88.2 (SSRU A) and up to 65 tonnes of Dissostichus spp. in Subarea 88.3.
