In accordance with Conservation Measure 41-01 and notifications for exploratory longline fisheries for Dissostichus spp. in 2011/12, the Republic of Korea has advised that it has withdrawn two vessels from Subarea 88.1 (Insung No. 3 and Insung No. 5), three vessels from Subarea 88.2 (Insung No. 3, Insung No. 5 and Insung No. 66), one vessel from Subarea 48.6 (Insung No. 66) and one vessel from Division 58.4.1 (Insung No. 66) (CCAMLR-XXX, paragraph 9.17).

Members are advised that an advance copy of the CCAMLR-XXX Report in English has been made publicly available on the CCAMLR website. A pre-publication version in French, Russian and Spanish will be available to Members only in early December. Members wishing to make editorial comments on statements attributed to them in the report should do so by 13 January 2012 prior to final publication online in all languages which is scheduled for the end of January 2012.

TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION AND THE SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE

In accordance with Conservation Measure 41-01, Annex 41-01/B (2011) (see attached), each vessel engaged in exploratory fisheries for Dissostichus spp. in Subarea 48.6 and Divisions 58.4.1, 58.4.2 and 58.4.3a in 2011/12 must undertake all research hauls in fine-scale rectangles of 0.5° latitude by 1.0° longitude defined by the Secretariat (designated fine-scale rectangles).
