The attached report summarises fishing activities in 2011/12 as reported in 5-day, 10-day and monthly catch and effort data submitted to the Secretariat to date.  These data are circulated in accordance with conservation measures in force.



Catch and effort by reporting period for each fishery are emailed regularly to Contracting Parties participating in these fisheries.

At CCAMLR-XXXI, the Standing Committee on Implementation and Compliance (SCIC) considered the Secretariat’s review of CCAMLR’s VMS (CCAMLR-XXXI/13 Rev. 1). It was agreed by SCIC that an informal VMS technical and operational advisory working group be established to provide input to:

The Standing Committee on Implementation and Compliance (SCIC) considered information provided by Togo in relation to its request to remove the vessel Tchaw from the NCP-IUU Vessel List. SCIC agreed that the information provided by Togo did not meet the requirements of CM 10-07, paragraph 18, and therefore the vessel Tchaw was not removed from the NCP-IUU Vessel List (CCAMLR-XXXI, Annex 6, paragraph 7.14). The attached letter to Togo in relation to this matter has been prepared by the Secretariat and is provided for Members.

Members are notified of the following revisions to the CCAMLR conservation measures and resolutions which were adopted by the Commission at the Thirty-First Annual Meeting (CCAMLR-XXXI, Section 7). The date for notification for the purposes of Article IX.6 of the Convention is 7 November 2012.

In accordance with Conservation Measure 21-03, Members are advised that the People’s Republic of China has notified a replacement fishing vessel due to operational reasons (attached).



The An Xing Hai has been replaced by the Long Teng in the notification for krill fisheries in 2012/13.

In accordance with Conservation Measure 21-03, Members are advised that China has notified a replacement fishing vessel due to operational reasons (attached).



The An Xing Hai has been replaced by the Long Teng in the notification for krill fisheries in 2012/13.
