CCAMLR-XXXI established an Intersessional Correspondence Group (ICG), coordinated by the Secretariat, to review future funding options and efficiencies for the Commission. The ICG was tasked with analysing income and expenditure options for establishing a sustainable budget to support the Commission’s operations in the medium term. The Secretariat was asked to circulate draft terms of reference and invite Members’ participation in the ICG (CCAMLR-XXXI, Annex 7, paragraph 13).

TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION



The attached report summarises fishing activities in 2011/12 as reported in 5-day, 10-day and monthly catch and effort data submitted to the Secretariat to date.  These data are circulated in accordance with conservation measures in force.



Catch and effort by reporting period for each fishery are emailed regularly to Contracting Parties participating in these fisheries.

Please note the suggestion from Japan. I would appreciate a response by Friday 7 December 2012 from any Member who has concerns in relation to Japan’s suggestion.



Unless I hear otherwise, the changes proposed by Japan will be implemented in association with Conservation Measure 10-05 (2012) adopted at CCAMLR-XXXI.

Australia has submitted the attached information regarding the vessels FV Lana (formerly FV Zeus) and FV Shaanxi Henan 33 (formerly FV Xiong Nu Baru 33), which are both listed on CCAMLR’s NCP-IUU Vessel List.



Australia has further submitted information, as requested by the Democratic Republic of the Congo, in relation to the IUU-listed vessel Perlon (attached).
