Members intending to participate in a new or exploratory fishery in 2012/13 are required to submit notifications and related information to the Secretariat as follows:

Members intending to participate in a krill fishery in 2012/13 are required to notify the Secretariat no later than 1 June 2012, to allow WG-EMM to consider all notifications for krill fisheries.  The procedures for notification are described in Conservation Measure 21-03 and, where applicable, Conservation Measure 21-02, and the deadline of 1 June (CCAMLR-XXVIII, paragraph 12.15) applies to both procedures.  The notification forms are attached. The Secretariat will acknowledge all notifications received.

Members are advised that Volume 24 of the Statistical Bulletin (2002–2011) has been published.  The final hardcopies of the Statistical Bulletin will be distributed in the forthcoming weeks, and the electronic version is available from the CCAMLR website in pdf and database format (see ‘Publications’).  The database version contains the complete time series of public domain STATLANT data and associated reference data.

    

Members are thanked for their assistance in the preparation of STATLANT data for the 2010/11 season.

Members are advised that the Commission’s Financial and Investment position as at 31 March 2012 is set out in the attached reports.



Members are invited to submit any queries or comments directly to the Manager, Administration and Finance.

In accordance with Conservation Measure 21-03, the Secretariat has been advised by Korea that, due to a fire on board, the vessel Dongsan Ho has been replaced by the Maestro in the krill fishery in Area 48.

The attached report summarises fishing activities in 2011/12 as reported in 5-day, 10-day and monthly catch and effort data submitted to the Secretariat to date.  These data are circulated in accordance with conservation measures in force.

Catch and effort by reporting period for each fishery are emailed regularly to Contracting Parties participating in these fisheries.

Australia has requested that the attached information be circulated to all Members of the Commission.

A letter from the Convener of WG-SAM, Dr Stuart Hanchet, is attached, along with a Draft Agenda and Annotated Agenda for this year’s meeting.

The unaudited Financial Statements for 2011, as required under Financial Regulation 10.2, are attached.
