TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION AND THE SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE
At SC-CAMLR-XXXI and CCAMLR-XXXI the Scientific Committee and Commission decided to issue invitations to the following parties to attend SC-CAMLR-XXXII and CCAMLR-XXXII as observers (SC-CAMLR-XXXI, paragraph 15.9, CCAMLR-XXXI, paragraphs 13.3 to 13.6):
- non-Member Contracting Parties – Bulgaria, Canada, Cook Islands, Finland, Greece, Mauritius, Netherlands, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Peru and Vanuatu
- NCPs participating in the CDS who are involved in harvesting or landing and/or trade of toothfish – Seychelles
- NCPs not participating in the CDS but possibly involved in harvesting or landing and/or trade of toothfish – Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Belize, Bolivia, Cambodia, Colombia, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Equatorial Guinea, Ghana, Honduras, Indonesia, Islamic Republic of Iran, Kenya, Malaysia, Mali, Mexico, Mongolia, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Panama, Philippines, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Sierra Leone, Singapore, St Kitts and Nevis, Tanzania, Thailand, Togo, Trinidad and Tobago, United Arab Emirates and Viet Nam
- intergovernmental organisations: ACAP, CCSBT, CEP, CITES, FAO, IATTC, ICCAT, IOC, IUCN, IWC, SCAR, SCOR, SEAFO, UNEP, WCPFC and Members of the Regional Plan of Action to Promote Responsible Fishing Practices Including Combatting IUU Fishing in South East Asia (RPOA).
- non-governmental organisations: ASOC, ARK and COLTO.
The Scientific Committee and Commission did not decide on invitations to observe SC CAMLR-IM-I or CCAMLR-SM-II at Bremerhaven, Germany, in July.
Members are kindly requested to indicate by 18 February 2013 whether they have any objections to any of the invitees above being invited to observe SC-CAMLR-IM-I and CCAMLR-SM-II, or, if they have additional suggestions.
