In December 2021, Blair Denholm (Russian Translation Coordinator) retired after a cumulative 23 years at the Secretariat (1989–2001; 2012–2021) and in January Gabriel Kinzler (French Translator) also left the Secretariat.

The following appointments have been made to these General Services positions:

• Olga Kozyrevitch, Russian Translation Coordinator. Olga has previously served as Russian Translator.
• Marie Lecomte, French Translator.
• Anar Umerkhanova, Russian Translator.

In February, Marina Negro (Data and Information Systems Manager) left the Secretariat. Following an international recruitment campaign, and kindly assisted on the panel by Dr Helen Peat (British Antarctic Survey), Mr Gary Dewhurst has been appointed to the role. Gary has previously served as Data Systems Analyst.

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Blair, Gabriel and Marina for their contributions to the Secretariat and CCAMLR, and wish them well for their future endeavours.

We welcome Olga, Marie, Anar and Gary as they take up their new roles.
