In accordance with Conservation Measure (CM) 31-02, paragraph 5, the Republic of Korea advised the Secretariat on 5 December 2022 that the Korean-flagged vessel Blue Ocean was not able to remove all its fishing gear from the water in Subarea 88.1 and SSRUs 882A–B (area north of 70°S) by the notified closure date and time identified in COMM CIRC 22/120–SC CIRC 22/113.

The Blue Ocean subsequently reported that all gear was retrieved from the water in Subarea 88.1 and SSRUs 882A–B (area north of 70°S) at 14:01 UTC on 5 December 2022.

The Republic of Korea notified the Secretariat that the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries of Korea will investigate this matter and will submit an investigation report in accordance with CM 31-02 for circulation to all Members.
