I am pleased to inform you that the Secretariat has appointed Dr Steve Parker to the position of Science Manager at the Secretariat.

We received a large number of high-quality and a wide diversity of applications for the position. I am most grateful to Dr Dirk Welsford (Chair of the Scientific Committee) and Dr Clara Péron (Co-convener of WG-SAM) for serving on the appointment panel.

Dr Parker holds both New Zealand and US citizenship and will take up his appointment in the second half of 2021.
