On 26 January 2022, the Secretariat was notified that the New Zealand-flagged vessel San Aotea II had completed research fishing operations in SSRU 881M (Ross Sea Shelf Survey). In accordance with Conservation Measure (CM) 31-02, paragraph 7, the vessel advised that they were unable to depart the survey area immediately due to the recovery of a current mooring in the survey area.

On 27 January 2022, the Secretariat was notified that the San Aotea II had completed all operations and was proceeding to depart the area.
