In accordance with Conservation Measure (CM) 31-02, paragraph 7, the Secretariat was informed on 05 June 2021 that the Chinese-flagged vessel Fu Yuan Yu 9818 will not immediately depart the closed fishery for Euphausia superba in Subarea 48.1 per CM 31-02, paragraph 3.

The Secretariat was advised that all gear had been removed from the water prior to the fishery closure as announced by COMM CIRC 21/71–SC CIRC 21/96 and that the vessel intended to depart Subarea 48.1 as soon as repairs could be completed to the vessel's main engine.

The Secretariat was subsequently advised on the 05 June 2021 that the repairs had been completed and the vessel was exiting Subarea 48.1.
