In 2019 the Commission endorsed the creation of an e-group for intersessional discussions and work related to electronic monitoring systems as a management tool to support data collection and compliance on CCAMLR vessels. The United Kingdom (UK) was identified to chair the e-group and an invitation was also extended to COLTO and ARK (CCAMLR-38, paragraph 3.10).

At the request of the UK, a discussion group has now been created on the CCAMLR website. This will operate in the same way as an e-group but has been set up to facilitate the engagement of relevant Observers and invited experts. Members are invited to provide the name and CCAMLR Party of individuals that they wish to participate in the online discussion group to ccamlr@ccamlr.org and those individuals will then be registered for access to this discussion group.
