In accordance with Conservation Measure (CM) 31-02, paragraph 7, the Secretariat was informed on 18 May 2024 that the Chinese-flagged vessels Long Fa, Fu Xing Hai, Shen Lan, Hua Xiang 9 and Hua Xiang 8 would not immediately depart Subarea 48.1 following the closure of the fishery for Euphausia superba as announced in COMM CIRC 24/53-SC CIRC 24/41.

China advised that due to strong winds, the vessels would take shelter from the wind for the sake of safety and will depart Subarea 48.1 as soon as weather permits.
