Members may recall that in 2020 the UN Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea (UNDOALOS) requested information from CCAMLR on "Implementation of the ecosystem approach to fisheries management" (see COMM CIRC 20/16–SC CIRC 20/16 and COMM CIRC 20/44–SC CIRC 20/42).

The intended session did not proceed in 2020, but is now scheduled for May 2022. The Secretariat has again received a request from UNDOALOS (attached) for a contribution on "Implementation of the ecosystem approach to fisheries management" to the fifteenth round of informal consultations. The Secretariat has prepared a draft submission (attached) based on the CCAMLR Brochure.

This draft is circulated in accordance with the request of Members in COMM CIRC 20/44–SC CIRC 20/42. Any comments are requested by 28 February so that the Secretariat may submit the contribution by the due date of 15 March.
